I like your idea of doing pattern and texture. When I looked at your project I recongnized that is what you were going for. I like how your colors are soft and calm, but maybe you could jus play around with more colors...it's up to you either way its coming along good
I think the pattern & texture idea is good. I'm working in the same way actually, but its interesting to see it in a different light.
